This pass brought me into the AT&T Williams motorhome...
Pardon the blurry photos... Its the phone, not the owner... so anyway.. first stop is the Williams Motorhome.
The specially built hut that is housed right outside their assigned pit at the Pit Building. They brought in their own chefs, own waitress among others with at least 70 crew flying around wherever they go.
Update : I have been told the ang mor has a name. He is Patrick Overwijk. He is the Global Sponsorship Manager, Philips Consumer Lifestyle.
My advice to people holding on to this device... DONT SHINE IT DIRECTLY IN YOUR EYES... yes I speak from experience.
So long story short, it sets the drivers mood as the race is at night, it conditions the mind and eyes to day time...
Something like that.... I was also busy drinking the Gatorade served.... You have no idea how precious and excellent tasting this Gatorade is when you have walked from bloody City hall to the Pit Building under the bloody hot weather... again I digress.....
We were then shown the drivers private room. I did not take photos as the rest were all busy taking theirs. So next we were brought into the garage of the racing team. We were shown the place where they were testing the engines and brakes.
No photos were allowed. But it was basically a place where there were monitors and 2 engines in the middle with flurry of activities. Its like a fish market with lots of computer monitors.
AT&T Williams account manager Nick Hayes then brought us out to see the body kit which was still being assembled. I will let the photos do the talking... very lazy already.
After which I turned my back on the race track I saw aline of cars for dunno what race...
We were then brought back to the room for Q &A to which for me was back to the Gatorade.
This tour was definately an eye opening experience being first time in a F1 garage. Though it did not make me a bigger F1 fan... It was definately or should I say.. bloody impressive.
