Yes, its that time of the year... the time where we all come together as one for a celebration.
Not Seventh month lah.... not yet anyway...Its the day where we gain independance. They day we celebrate National Day.
This year National day I am disappointed... yeap I am...
First disappointment, No tickets.... I bidded for a ticket this year, well like every other year I bid for ticket. I wanted this year's one badly because of a personal reason.
The Padang was where I marched for the year 2000 National Day Parade. Yes I once marched for the National Day Parade proudly with cans of Herbal Jelly stuffed into my SBO(don't ask). Infact I was captured on TV 3 times. I must have looked good (well I was young once and had my good looking moments)...
So going back, I was hoping to go back to the Padang this year, but instead of taking part in it. I wanna be a spectator. But no such hope eh?
Next disappointment. This....
This year's National Day official theme song, un-inspiringly titled Song For Singapore.. (Gee you think?) I mean Corrine May is good, one can expect nothing less from her, but the song sounds normal, boring infact. When compared to last years one...
The Electrico one sounds more inspirational and lasting. It builds up very nicely and one would feel proud listening and singing to it. But too bad Singaporeans were not ready to accept this genre of songs. So they went back to the tried and tested method.
Oh well, enough of ranting.. Happy Birthday Singapore... Go chew them all and have a good one.....

Eeeee.... last year 1 not nice at all. In fact, it's the worst of all NDP Theme songs.
You marched in 2000, under which formation? :) I helped support the logistics for the 2003 NDP, and I remember Sun Yanzi sang there
