New Series: Touch
We are all interconnected. Our lives are invisibly tied to those whose destinies touch ours.
Created and written by Tim Kring, the same guy and brought you Heroes and Crossing Jordan. Touch is the new series that stars Kiefer Sutherland (JACK BAUER WOOHOO) as Martin Bohm, a widower and single father, haunted by an inability to connect to his emotionally challenged 11-year-old son, Jake (David Mazouz).
Martin has tried everything to reach his son. But Jake never speaks, shows little emotion, and never allows himself to be touched by anyone, including Martin. Jake is obsessed with numbers—writing long strings of them in his ever-present notebooks—and with discarded cell phones.
But everything changes after Martin learns that Jake possesses an extraordinary gift—the ability to perceive the seemingly hidden patterns that connect every life on the planet. Jake connects to his father through numbers, not words.
Martin realizes that it’s his job to decipher these numbers and recognize their meaning. As he puts the pieces together, he will help people across the world connect as their lives intersect according to the patterns Jake has foreseen.
I watched the first 3 episodes of it and I must say its pretty impressive how it links up everyone from all over the world to a single number. The pilot episode which features a father looking for a lost cellphone which has photos of his daughter that passed away and eventually seeing the pictures on a large public screen brought a tear to my eye. The rest of the 2 episodes are nothing short of amazing.
You really have to catch this series. It is currently airing on SingTel's MIO. Keifer Sutherland's performance again never fail to disappoint. Let's hope this series doesn't.
